Our state tree, the Eastern hemlock, is under threat by the invasive hemlock woolly adelgid! This greatly affects forest and stream ecosystems. We’re working to control the spread of invasive HWA in select stands of hemlock trees on some of our preserves: Wolf Creek Narrows Natural Area, Marshall Preserve and Bennett Branch Forest.
